DURATION:
Solos, Duos, Trios 1.00 – 2.00 min.

PARTICIPANTS:
Possibility of exceeding the age limits of the groups: in a group of up to 7 people one (1) person may exceed the age limit of his category. Accordingly, in a group of 8 to 10 people two (2) people, in a group of 11 to 13 people three (3) people, in a group of 14 to 16 people four (4) people, in a group of 17 people and above five (5) people. Younger athletes can also compete in older age categories.

GROUP CATEGORIES:
Number of participants: at least 4 participants. Duration – there will be a tolerance regarding their maximum duration, of the order of 10 seconds, after which the music will be interrupted.
•CONTEMPORARY – contemporary dance is a more relaxed, free form in which the choreographer uses emotions and moods to design his or her own steps, as opposed to the structured step code of ballet. It has a deliberate use of gravity, while ballet strives to be light and airy. Contemporary ballet should not be combined with contemporary dance and should not compete in this area. Acrobatics, lifts, props, accessories are allowed.
•DEBUT CONTEMPORARY - Debuting teams are considered to be those in which 80% of their members dance for the first time in dance competitions within the year of the competition (e.g. for the year 2026, 8 out of 10 athletes must not have danced in competitions before 1/1/2026). Acrobatics, lifts, props, accessories are allowed.
•MODERN – JAZZ – is based on either Jazz, Lyrical, Ballet and Contemporary dance techniques, allows the use of acrobatic scenes, synchronization or other theatrical effects and is based on a concept, story, theme or idea. The idea, story, theme must be fully understood and will be expressed through dance figures so that it appears creative, imaginative and original. Acrobatics, lifts, props, accessories are allowed.

SOLO CATEGORIES
•Solo OPEN - Dancers dance with all participants “IN THE HEATS”. The music for the Solo categories is selected by the organizers of “KAVALA OPEN”. Dancers can also compete in the next age category.
•Solo SHOW - Dancers dance individually “ON THE STAGE”, they will use their own music and the duration is up to 2:00 minutes. Athletes will have 15′ seconds for the entrance and 15′ seconds for the exit. Wings and the cane as accessories are allowed

DUOS, TRIOS CATEGORIES
These are competition categories and participants dance individually “ON THE STAGE” using their own music and the duration is up to 2:00 minutes. The presentation must be thematic and distinguished in choreography, costume and music. Athletes will have 15′ seconds for the entrance and 15′ seconds for the exit.
